Fresh Fashion for Spring

By Lindsay Tapscott

The re-emergence of spring every year brings with it a deeply felt sense of newness and possibility, especially when it comes to fashion. We love to plan new outfits and purchases for the warm weather and refresh our wardrobes with pieces that put a fresh pep in our step. The season’s promise of rebirth calls for clothes that feel joyful and full of joie de vivre. Light fabrics, vibrant colours, pretty prints and statement silhouettes––now’s the time to seize the season and shine the spotlight on your personal style with these spring outfit ideas for women.

As the days heat up it’s important to keep cool, but how do you do that without resorting to wearing the same T-shirt and pair of shorts every day? Enter linen. A cooler fabric than cotton or silk, linen is a super-comfortable material for summer because of its ability to absorb sweat and the way it sits slightly detached from the body, creating a cool, breezy space between your clothes and your skin. For an understated luxurious look that easily transitions from weekend to day-to-day life, try our soft and breathable Linen V-Neck Tank Top in muted Chambray and matching Linen Wide Leg Crop Pant. The tank top features narrow side slits and a straight hem for easy tucking while the flowy pant boasts a stretchy waistband and side pockets. For something a little more casually cool, our relaxed, boxy Linen Dolman T-shirt Dress is perfect for looking put-together in a pinch––the oversized silhouette tapers slightly at the knee and the classic boat neckline softly flatters any figure.

Another ideal fabric for spring? Bamboo. Similar in feel to airy cotton, bamboo is soft, also moisture-resistant, and one of the lowest-impact materials on the planet as it doesn’t require as much water as cotton to grow (so know that when you slip on one of our bamboo pieces, you’re also going for a less impactful option). Our Bamboo T-shirt Dress is another low-key look for day––it features a crew neck, a knee-length straight step hem with narrow side slits, and side pockets for added functionality. We absolutely love it in our new eye-popping pink Hibiscus colour (so fresh!). Though if separates is your preference, our Bamboo V-Neck Dolman Top is an elegant upgrade from the everyday T-shirt. Its boxy fit, wide V neckline and draped elbow-length sleeve take you from afternoon barbecue to evening garden party in style (it’s also available in pretty pink Hibiscus), pair it with the Bamboo Wide Leg Crop Pant for an airy head-to-toe option.

A change in seasons also calls for a change in shapes and we love to opt for clothes that show ‘just the right amount’ of skin. For a great casual spring outfit idea to wear around the house, or when you need to run errands but don’t want to look sloppy, grab a pair of our Twist Leggings and go: we’ve updated the classic, figure-hugging black legging with unique twist-cutout detail at the ankle-length hem. For something a little dressier, slip on our Wide-Sleeve Twist Top, a romantic A-line fit that features eye-catching twist cutouts at the 3/4-length sleeve. If you’re after a little more structure, look to our straight-leg Belted Capri Pant with removable belt––it’s made from our signature jersey fabric for wear-anywhere (and wrinkle-resistant) versatility. And finally, for easy elegance day or night, our maxi-length Sleeveless V-Neck Tie Dress is the perfect one-and-done piece for warmer weather––an adjustable tie pulls together the A-line silhouette at the empire waist, and the smocking at the shoulders and V-neckline add a touch of interest.

Now that looks to us like a very fashionable future.
