Meet Charlotte

How did you get started in your career?

My career in fashion started back in 1998, and I’ve been in love with the business ever since! I have been working with Jan Stimpson and Sympli since the very beginning, and it’s a brand I am very passionate about.

What’s your favourite part about your job?

My favourite part about Sympli is introducing it to new customers. Thanks to the brand’s dedicated team of designers, each piece is crafted with the utmost attention to fit and drape. No two women are the same, so in addition to having very flattering pieces, the sheer number of options allow any woman to create a look that’s uniquely her own. Nothing feels better than seeing a woman try on a Sympli outfit, and come out of the fitting room with a big smile on her face.

What about the Sympli story do you find resonates most with retailers?

I think that people really connect with is the story behind the brand. Every piece of Sympli clothing is made in Canada, and if that wasn’t enough, Sympli employs a network of women that work out of their own homes to sew garments. They empower these entrepreneurs to work while also enabling them to stay at home and care for their families. Not only does Sympli support their community, but they encourage mothers that don’t want to sacrifice spending time with their children in order to make a living. For those of us that have children of our own, it’s incredibly moving to work with a company that values family so much.

What makes Sympli stand out among brands?
One thing that really stands out about Sympli is the quality of the fit. The designers take their time to ensure that each new style drapes and flatters the natural curves of a woman’s body. The variety of styles and mix and match potential really means that there’s something for everyone.

Do you have a unique Sympli customer story you would like to share?

One of my favourite Sympli stories happened a few years back when I was working an event in Fort Collins, Colorado. A woman came into the store, so I approached her and informed her about the event I was doing for Sympli. She hadn’t heard about Sympli before, and while she was curious, she had some reservations about the fabric and how it would fit. So I put together 4 outfits and asked her to try them on, just to humour me. She was being a good sport, but you could tell she didn’t have particularly high expectations. What happened next was one of the reasons I love working with this brand.

The customer went into the fitting room, and after a few minutes, you could hear her laughing. This went on for a little bit until she finally emerged, grinning ear to ear. The clothes looked fantastic on her, and she just loved how they made her feel. She was so thankful that I pushed her to try them on, and ended up buying all 4 outfits!

Do you Recommend Sympli to Your Friends? How many of them wear Sympli?

I absolutely love Sympli, and I wear it all the time! I recommend Sympli to all my friends and family, and I think every one of them has at least a few pieces. It’s something special to find a brand that not only fits your body but also connects with you on a personal level. It’s fashion you can be passionate about, I know I certainly am!
